Just like my moms homemade sauce!

Nothing to write home about. Kinda pricey for spaghetti. $1.75 for a can of pop is a bit much. Salad was just iceberg lettuce one slice of cucumber and a piece of tomato. Won't be back. $40 with tip is a lot for rigatoni for 2 people. Better off at Villa Balanca.

Ida's is an experience in itself. The food is fantastic classic Italian food and plentiful. Everything is made in house, including a fantastic salad dressing. Ida herself is a larger than life character who makes the experience that much more fun. Glad to see her land on her feet after the fire in Arnold.

Not local to Lower Burrell but in the area for a funeral and was told by a friend to check out Ida’s. We split 4 meals between 4 of us. Everything was delicious and portions were huge. The restaurant itself was very quaint inside with a touch of Ida’s character throughout. Ida was a joy to talk to and quite a hoot. Thank you for some of the best Italian food I’ve ever had! Will definitely make the trip back sometime.

Very good Italian food. Ida has been around quite a while and is still the same. Family of 4 had spaghetti, gnocchi, ravioli and the chicken parmesan special. Huge portions. Salad was fresh. Homemade buns were delicious. My 12 year old said it was the best spaghetti he has ever had. All the food is delicious top notch home made Italian food.

Super cute place! Ida was so nice and the food is amazing! We stumbled upon it and we are so glad we did. We will definitely be going back!

Ida's is a family restaurant that makes small batches of the day's offerings all by hand and all taste like your grandmother's, assuming that your grandmother is an 80 year old, foul mouthed Italian lady that loves to cook.

Outstanding. All original Italian dishes made by Ida. What a gem. Best Italian food anywhere. Don’t forget to bring a bottle of wine 🍷People who complain about the salad, must not dine out much. With this quality of Italian food, you’ll forget about the salad. The prices are very fair. You will have enough to take home for another meal too!

I’m very surprised to see the negative reviews. Ida works very hard and her food has always been excellent. She’s charging accordingly based on cost of food, labor, rent, etc. At times you can get a bad server anywhere so just adjust your tip accordingly. It’s very difficult to find good help anywhere. Ida is no spring chicken and she works her butt off.

The food was sub par and the owner Ida was really rude to me. We will not be returning.

I had a small lasagne and salad. I am not a fan of oil and vinegar dressing. But Ida's is really good. Also lasagne was delicious and enough left for next day lunch. Service is great and Ida is also great.

Ida is one of the most intetesting people I've ever had the pleasure of getting to know. This lady really can cook and she's been at it for 40 years in her own restaurant. If you frequent Ida's, you know what I mean. If you've never been there or don't go often, you should!!!

For those few of you who criticize Ida for simple sauce and salad it is obvious that you do not understand true Italian cooking. Having been to visit my Calabrian family over 25 times in a town only a few miles from Amantea, Italy where Ida was born I am familiar with true Italian cooking. Simple is the key. What we in America are served as italian food is nothing like that served in Italy. Fresh ingredients with loads of flavor are the norm. Considering what Ida has to work with she offers the closest thing to true southern Italian cooking that can be found in America. Other than dining at my family’s table in Calabria or my own table Ida’s is at the time of my list.

The only guests that were taken care of were Ida's friends. I did not feel welcomed at all.

Great intimate place for basic Italian food

Best Italian food in Pittsburgh by far. If you want to eat the best food there is in Pittsburgh , go to this restaurant and I guarantee you’ll be satisfied .

This place is absolutely amazing. This was my first time here and I was so impressed. The food is delicious and that says a lot, because I am so very picky. It is quiet with a family feel. And while there ask Miss. Ida about the New Ken and Arnold kids that would pick her flowers!!!

My food came out cold and I simply asked the lady who brought my food out if there was something she could do to fix it. She said no. Turns out it was the owner Ida. That is no way to treat your customers.

The braciole is my favorite. Excellent sauce and large portions. Always rotating specials - call to find out what they are.

Ida's food is traditional Italian food at it's best, she serves a simple salad and then knocks your socks off with the main course. If you feel the need to complain about the salad, then you missed the point completely. She allows you to BYO and shares, when she can in your enjoyment of her establishment. My wife's family is very Italian and they adore her food!!

Love Ida and love her food. One of the Saturday specials is braciola and it is absolutely delish. You will always leave with food to take home.

This quaint restaurant is amazing. The atmosphere is soothing the Italian food is delicious to say the least. There is a standard fair of Italian dishes plus there are daily specials. And then there's Ida the owner and cook, who is as charming as she is talented.

We go there all the time, its is to die for and the staff is so friendly.

Wonderful dinner tonight, First time there. Food was great. Owner and waitress was very friendly. We'll definitely be back. Lemoncello dessert was and great ending to our meal.
